European Hydrogen Week 2024, held from 18-21 November at Brussels Expo (Belgium), is Europe’s leading event dedicated to hydrogen as a key element in the energy transition. This year, the fifth edition was attended by key players in the sector, including governments, companies, researchers and international organisations.
Organised by the European Commission, Hydrogen Europe, and the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, this event aims to strengthen public-private partnerships, boost the development of technological solutions, and promote investments in the sector.
It offered more than 25 thematic sessions and featured around 200 speakers exploring trends, challenges and opportunities in the hydrogen sector. The agenda included a High-Level Policy Conference, focusing on regulatory and technological strategies for hydrogen development, and an Innovation Hub, introducing an interactive Innovation Forum on the hydrogen value chain, European competitiveness and H2 Valleys. In addition, the EU Projects Pavilion was a showcase for EU-funded initiatives, providing a space for the presentation of innovative projects and B2B networking opportunities. The European Hydrogen Week 2024 technology exhibition was a key highlight of the event, providing a platform to showcase the latest developments in hydrogen-related technologies. Highlights included innovations in electrolysers, fuel cells and hydrogen-powered vehicles, including trucks, buses and cars, which attendees were able to explore and test first-hand.
The H2ENRY Project, funded by the Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico y la Innovación (CDTI) within the CERVERA call of Technology Centres, had a prominent participation in the Mini Technical Forum, part of the European Project Pavilion. This space, designed to give visibility to projects developed in the European Union, allowed H2ENRY to present its vision and technological advances. The presentation took place on 19 November and attracted industry experts and facilitated a dialogue on the future of hydrogen in Europe. The H2ENRY project, led by CIDAUT and with the participation of AICIA, Instituto Tecnológico de la Energía ITE, EnergyLab and Leitat highlighted its focus on the development of disruptive solutions for the production and storage of renewable hydrogen, as well as digital tools to optimise industrial processes. The presence of the team allowed the exchange of knowledge with other actors in the sector and the exploration of synergies to enhance the development of renewable hydrogen as a key energy vector.
The H2ENRY Project’s participation in the European Hydrogen Week 2024 reaffirms its commitment to technological innovation and sustainability. This event has not only served as a platform to share advances, but also to strengthen networks and explore key synergies for the development of renewable hydrogen as an energy vector. With a focus on scientific and technological excellence, H2ENRY continues to contribute to European leadership in the energy transition by offering advanced solutions for the production and storage of renewable hydrogen. Such initiatives are key to achieving the European Union’s climate goals and building a sustainable future based on clean energy.
