Researchers of the Fundación CIDAUT attended the 3rd Conference on Advanced Materials in Spain (AMatS 2024), celebrated in Valladolid (Spain) from November 12 to 14, 2024. Our participation counted with two oral contributions belonging to studies of “Complementary R+D+i Plan in the Area of Advanced Materials»: “Design and simulation of advanced acoustic foams by defining representative unit cells” by Pablo Arranz García and “Development of a simulation model for the thermoforming process of high-performance polymer matrix composite materials and definition of a FCL to identify defects and optimise their manufacture” by Adrian Pedrosa Valbuena. In addition, CIDAUT had several flash presentations: “Obtaining and characterization of biobased polymers from vegetal proteins for packaging applications” by Laura Matesanz, “Evaluation of the mechanical performance of thermal spray coatings deposited onto composite substrates” by Jorge Velasco, “Study and simulation of the cationic induced photopolymerization process in thermosetting composite materials” by Pablo Contreras, “Sustainable synthesis and characterization of solvent-free tpu with biomass-derived polyol for foaming applications” by Mercedes Santiago Calvo, and “Study of the effect of the use of dispersive material on the acoustic performance of acoustic metamaterials based on helmholtz resonators” by Miguel Ángel Morcillo López. These contributions allow to results from different National and Horizon Europe projects, including “Complementary R+D+i Plan in the Area of Advanced Materials», “RED MARFIL”, “Bionanopolys” and “r-Lightbiocom”.
In addition to all this, the CIDAUT’s members of RED MARFIL project were sponsors of the event having a booth. In RED MARFIL booth, CIDAUT team gave information about the last results of this project that is focused on intensifying the use of bioplastics, additives and reinforcements from renewable sources as innovative materials in key industrial sectors, such as the food packaging, and in industrial sectors with high added value, such as transport or agriculture.
