On 27 June 2024, the Spanish Hydrogen Technology Platform (PTeH2) held an important face-to-face workshop at the headquarters of the State Research Agency (AEI). The main objective of the meeting was to review the progress of the Deliverable 2024, a fundamental document that covers the two years of progress and achievements in the hydrogen sector in Spain.
The Deliverable 2024, which will be presented at the end of the year, will become a crucial reference for decision-makers in R&D&I policies. It will also be fundamental for promoting collaboration between knowledge generation centres, companies and hydrogen end users in the coming years. Likewise, the workshop is expected to foster innovative solutions that will drive the adoption of hydrogen-related technologies in Spain.
On behalf of CIDAUT, Henar Olmedo and José Ignacio Domínguez attended as members of the PTeH2 steering group and active participants in all the working groups
The event was chaired by Marián A. Ferre González, who, on behalf of the State Research Agency (AEI), welcomed the event.
‘To be able to bring together here today great professionals and leaders of the sector to share knowledge and experiences is a sign that we are on the right track and that we continue to strengthen Spain’s role in the global hydrogen panorama. From the Spanish Hydrogen Technology Platform, we will continue to promote the development of the industry through this collaboration between different actors’, said Antonio González, president of the PTeH2, in his opening remarks at the start of the conference.
The conference continued with the intervention of Isidoro J. Romero Cerrato, Head of the Renewable Hydrogen Area of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, who spoke in depth about the regulatory advances in the hydrogen sector and the support that has been allocated from this ministry. In addition, the representatives of the different Working Groups of the Platform, including José Ignacio Domínguez from CIDAUT, as coordinator of the group on the use of hydrogen in mobility, presented their conclusions on the status of the Deliverable 2024, concluding with an interactive session and a space for conclusions.
Following the review of the progress made during the workshop, the draft and final version of the Deliverable 2024 is planned to be finalised in the last quarter of 2024. Thus, during the Annual Meeting of the Energy Platforms Committee, the document will be officially presented in December.
