December 2024 was a pivotal month for the development of renewable hydrogen, with CIDAUT’s active participation in two major events: the consortium meeting and project day of H2MetAmo in Salamanca, and the presentation of the results obtained by CIDAUT from the H2MetAmo project at the CONAMA 2024 Congress in Madrid. Both events highlighted the progress and innovation of the project, which focuses on the development of technologies, materials, and processes for the small-scale production of renewable hydrogen carriers, such as methane and ammonia, for distributed use in Castilla y León.
H2MetAmo Meeting and Day in Salamanca
On December 11th, the University of Salamanca hosted a key event for the development of hydrogen in the region. The event was divided into two strategic sessions: the in-person meeting of the H2MetAmo consortium and the session titled «Hydrogen: An Opportunity for Castilla y León.»
During the consortium meeting, attended by representatives from the Junta de Castilla y León and the project’s partners, the scientific and technical progress, financial status, and next steps were reviewed. Subsequently, at the Fonseca College Auditorium, the session organized by the Castilla y León Hydrogen Association (H2CYL) took place, bringing together universities, technological centers, public administrations, and companies to foster collaboration in the hydrogen sector.
The event included the presentation of «H2MetAmo,» where Henar Olmedo from the CIDAUT Foundation shared the latest advances and results obtained within the project, highlighting its impact on innovation and technological development. The session concluded with a networking space that allowed attendees to exchange ideas and strengthen synergies for future projects.
CIDAUT Representing H2MetAmo at CONAMA 2024
At the beginning of December, from the 2nd to the 5th, CIDAUT participated in CONAMA 2024, one of Spain’s most important environmental congresses, where it presented its R&D projects aimed at improving sustainability through the renewable hydrogen value chain.
At this event, CIDAUT showcased a poster highlighting some of the key results from the H2MetAmo project, emphasizing the advances in energy efficiency and sustainability in the production of renewable hydrogen carriers, which are essential for a greener energy transition. Events like CONAMA 2024 provide a crucial platform for sharing knowledge and driving technological innovation towards a cleaner future.
